This scholarship is honor of the late Zebedee D. Strong, Jr., a dear friend and mentor of many former students of the University of Texas at Arlington. This scholarship is intended to remove some of the barriers students face while attending university in order to help them succeed and graduate. 

If you are granted this scholarship, you will recieve up to $500 a semester toward your textbooks. You will have to reapply each semester, as the scholarship is contingent upon your GPA.
